Client Guide

It’s so nice to meet you.

I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to work with you. I'm Erin and I'm a storyteller through imagery and design, with over a decade of experience in the creative industry. I take a minimalist approach to my work, while finding the details to create, and capture, a unique experience. My focus is to make sure that the time we spend together is comfortable, relaxed and creates a special memory. I will always strive to tell your story with authenticity and give it the attention that it deserves.

What to Expect

Before your Session

When your booking is finalized, we will discuss any styles or looks that you hope to capture during your session. This is the time to bring any ideas or inspiration that you may want to share!

Approximately one week before your session, we will connect for any questions, last minute outfit discussions, and finalize any location details.

On the day before your session, a notice for your second payment will be sent to your email address.

Session Day

The day of your session has arrived and it is time to make some memories! Please make plans to arrive at the location 5-10 minutes before your session begins. The only expectation during our time together is to enjoy this experience with your loved ones. No worries on having the "right" pose, I will guide you every step of the way. Candid shots are always some of my favorites anyways!

After your Session

Your final gallery of high-resolution images will be delivered 2-3 weeks after your session date. The gallery will be sent to your email with a link to download. Helpful tips on downloading, printing and sharing to social media are mentioned later in this guide.

Photo Session Prep

Plan your outfits in advance.

It's never too early to start pulling outfit choices together. I have included examples and inspiration in this guide to help with this task. You can also check my instagram for inspiration from past photo sessions.

Let your children know what is happening and what to expect.

Explain to your child(ren) what will take place on session day and that this is meant to be a fun time with mom and dad. You are welcome to show them a picture of me so that they can see who will be snapping their photos. It can also be helpful to bring a treat or their favorite toy to take breaks with throughout the session. We are on your kiddos time and it is my goal to make sure they are happy and content!

Check the route to your session.

If you have never been to the location that we are taking your photos at then check the route beforehand, optimally, around the timeframe of your session so you can also check for any traffic delays that might happen during that time of day.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

01

Pick a pattern and build from it. My best piece of advice is to find one outfit that you love and build around it. It can be a child's outfit or mom/dad's. Once you have that pattern, pull 2-3 shades from it for everyone else in the family to wear.

02

Find accessories. It can be a new pair of shoes, a blazer/suspenders, or favorite jewelry pieces. I would suggest to leave the ball caps for another time. They tend to overshadow faces and can get in the faces of your little ones.

03

Make it special. My favorite thing to do for my own family photos is to wear outfits that I typically wouldn't wear (or my children wouldn't wear) on a regular basis. While it is important to stay true to your style and taste, I would suggest wearing something that makes you feel extra snazzy!

Social Media and Printing

  • You have your photos now, what’s next?

Social Media

Please do not screen shot images! When uploading your images to any social media site please make sure to do it full quality.

If you can, tagging me on social media is always appreciated!

  • Facebook name @Patton Pastures or @Erin Patton (with the space in between)

  • Instagram @pattonpastures or @erinspatton

Printing

For the best printing outcome, download your photos to a computer and then upload those photos to the printer. If possible, I would avoid printing with companies like CVS, Walgreens or Walmart.

Printing companies that I love:

Artifact Uprising

Mpix

Mixtiles

Smallwoods

Costco

Downloading

It is important to download your photos as soon as you can after receiving your gallery. I do store your photos up to one year but this is not an option that is best to rely on. Dropbox or iCloud  are great resources to store and save your photos. If you have questions about downloading photos or storage options, please let me know!

What’s on your mind?

See you soon!
